The K4 Fanless Industrial PC is a newly introduced product in early 2020, specifically tailored for industrial applications such as manufacturing machinery, medical equipment, and more.
There are six serial ports available for connecting various machines, all of which are currently configured as RS232. Among them, one port can be converted to RS485/422, but unlike the others where this change can be made directly in the BIOS, with the K4 model, it requires adjusting the internal cable configuration.
The image above displays the pins for the onboard COM2 port. To switch it to RS422, relocate the pin header to pins 3-4 and create a short between pins 3 and 4. If RS485 is required, relocate the pin header to pins 5-6 and create a short between pins 5 and 6.
No additional settings are available inside the BIOS. If you require the settings to be configured before shipment, please communicate your requirements with your sales contacts.
