Once the Windows 11 image file has been successfully written, proceed to decompress the Windows 10 image file using compression software. Navigate to the "sources" directory within the decompressed files, and copy all files except "install.wim" (note: some Windows 10 directories may not contain the "install.wim" file; if this is the case, copy all files in the directory). Replace the contents of the "sources" directory on the USB disk with the copied files.
Here we share some tips to solve those problems.
First, let’s prepare the tools: 1 Windows PC; 1 16GB USB flash disk; Rufus (Free open-source bootable USB utility, download here); Windows 10 image file(download here); Windows 11 image file(Wait for the official version to be released and download it from Microsoft).
Now all prepared, let’s start our installation:
Step 1. Plug the USB flashdisk to Windows PC and open “Rufus”, and then select windows 11 image files, write Windows 11 image file into USB flash disk, details check pictures below:
Step 2. As commonly understood, Windows 11 has specific minimum system requirements. Among these, one criterion is that the processor must be 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC). Another requirement is the presence of Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. However, if our hardware does not meet these prerequisites, what steps should be taken?
Step 3. Once all files have been successfully replaced, insert the USB disk into the PC where you intend to install Windows 11 and initiate the installation process for the new operating system. The installation procedure is essentially identical to that of Windows 10. Important: Prior to installing the system, ensure to back up crucial data from your hard disk, as the installation will result in the complete erasure of all disk data. Here is a screenshot illustrating the installation process:
Step 4.Once the installation file has been successfully copied to the SSD, click on "Restart Now" and promptly remove the USB flash drive. Upon restarting, you will be guided through the setup wizard. Simply follow the prompts to continue.
