Preparation:
- An 8GB capacity USB flash drive
- Rufus.exe (a tool for writing disk images)
- Lubuntu ISO file
- A computer with internet connection (Windows)
1. Download Rufus Installation File and Lubuntu ISO File:
1-1. Copy the following URL into your browser's address bar to download Rufus: http://rufus.ie/downloads/. In this guide, we'll use Rufus 3.2 as an example.

2. Creating Lubuntu 20.04 Installation Media:
2-1. Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer that is already connected to the internet. Confirm that the USB drive is recognized and take note of its drive letter.
Note: This operation will erase all data on the USB drive. Please ensure you have backed up any important data beforehand.
2-2. Run Rufus 3.2. In the "Device" section, select the inserted USB flash drive. In the "Boot Selection" section, choose the lubuntu-20.04 ISO image file. For "Partition scheme," select GPT. Once you have verified the settings, click on START.
2-3. It is recommended to use the "Write in ISO Image mode" (Recommended) option. Click OK, then click OK again to confirm the writing process.
Wait for the write to complete and a green READY icon will appear, indicating that the write has been successful, click CLOSE to exit.
3. Installing Lubuntu 20.04:
3-1. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the computer where you want to install the system. Then, press the power button (SW) to turn on the computer. Quickly tap the F11 key on the keyboard to enter the Boot menu. Select the USB drive with the prefix "UEFI:" and press Enter to enter the system installation wizard.
3-2. Select Start lubuntu>Double click Install Lubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Select the desired language, region, Keyboard Model as required> Click Next to proceed to the next step.
3-3. Select the storage device (hard drive) drive letter. Choose "Erase disk" and then click "Next."
Set User Name and Password>Next
Make sure the configuration is correct and click install>install now to start the installation.
4-4. After the successful writing of files, click "Done." The computer will automatically restart. Once restarted, remove the USB flash drive (installation media) and press Enter. This will allow you to enter the Lubuntu system. Enter your password and you will be taken to the desktop.
