Between January 2021 and June 2021, we utilized certain KingFast SSDs equipped with the PHISON S11 Chip and YANGTZE memory. Some of these SSDs may encounter a write protection issue stemming from a firmware bug found in firmware versions SBFQP1.3 and SBFQPW3. To resolve this issue, we recommend users update their firmware to version SBFQP1C3.
This guide is designed for SSDs that have not yet entered the write-protected state and can boot into the Windows system normally.
Firstly, let's explain how to check the SSD firmware version.
To check the SSD firmware version, use the software "TxBENCH." Launch "txbench.exe," open the software, and navigate to the "Drive Information" option to locate and view the firmware version. If there are multiple SSDs installed in the PC, select the one labeled "KingFast" in the drive list. Refer to the image below:
Here you can download Txbench software. Once confirm current SSD firmware version is the bug version, go next step using “Reinitial&DLMC” software to update the SSD in current windows, updating in current system will not hurt files in the SSD.
Now, let’s introduce the way using “Reinitial&DLMC” to update the firmware. You can download “Reinitial&DLMC” program first.
1. Run “Reinitial&DLMC_SBFQP1C3_20210720”as Administrator
2. Click “Get Device Info.” and confirm the SSD is the one need to be updated, then click “ Upgrade Firmware” and click “OK”.
Wait about 30 seconds until below information shows update successful. Then turn off the software and restart the computer will be ok.
