Between January 2021 and June 2021, we used some KingFast SSDs which use the PHISON S11 chip and YANGTZE memory. These SSDs may enter a write-protected state, which stems from a firmware bug in firmware versions SBFQP1.3 and SBFQPW3. To resolve this issue, we recommend that users update the firmware to SBFQP1C3.
This guide applies to SSDs that have entered the write-protect state and can't enter the windows system normally.
First of all, we need to prepare: 1. a Windows computer that can run normally; 2. a USB flash drive with a capacity of no less than 8GB; 3. the firmware update tool "update S11 FW(PE)".
Now let's start making the USB tool. Insert the USB flash drive into your Windows PC and extract the file "update S11 FW(PE)", which contains the file "Win8PEx64" and the file "Make_Usb_Device". Device".
1. Right-click "Make_Usb_Device", run as administrator, select the USB flash disk (this step will delete all files in the USB flash disk), select "Make" to confirm. "Confirm, when the prompt "It's was success!" is displayed, the file is written successfully.
2. the "Win8PEx64" file copied to the U disk, so the firmware update tool successfully.
Now we proceed to the next step: firmware update.
1. Insert the USB flash drive into your PC (if you need to update the SSD), turn on the computer and press and hold F11 or F7 (depending on the PC model), select the boot device USB flash drive and confirm to enter the PE system.
2. after logging into the PE system, right-click "Computer", find the U disk, open the U disk, open the file "Reinitial&DLMC_SBFQP1C3_20210720", then run the program "Reinitial&DLMC_SBFQP1C3_20210720.exe".3. Follow the software guide to the next step of the update, please note: updating the firmware will delete all files in the SSD.
Select "SSD" in the "Device" option, it will be detected automatically on a regular basis; then click "Get Device Information", then click "Update Firmware". FirmwareWhen the message "Successful update to SBFQP1C3" is displayed, the update is complete, and there is now no content in the SSD, and the PC system needs to be reinstalled in order to operate normally.
